How to add an FTP account?

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method for managing the files associated with your website. cPanel includes a preconfigured and easy-to-use FTP server. If you have a hosting service, your FTP access should already be set up. You can access the system via FTP using your cPanel account username and password.

Follow these steps to create a new FTP account in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Find the "FTP Accounts" option in the "Files" section.
  3. Fill in the following fields:
    • Login: Enter the username for the FTP account.
    • Password: Create a strong password.
    • Security: A password strength indicator will be displayed.
    • Directory: By default, a folder will be created inside public_html/username. You can modify it if needed.
    • Quota: Set a data transfer limit for the account (optional).
  4. Click "Create FTP Account" to complete the process.

Once the account is created, you can use it with an FTP client like FileZilla to efficiently manage your files.
